I have been making patchwork and quilting for about 12 years now but have been sewing / knitting from an early age. I turn my hand to most crafts - cross-stitch, crochet, french knitted necklaces, cards making - but my current passion is quilting. I am also a keen tenpin bowler and coach for the local Youth 10 pin Bowling Club in Farnborough - now baed at Guildford Spectrum. I have been in the software industry for over 40 years.

I have always sewn and knitted since childhood. In the 1970’s I made my first Hexagon Patchwork bed cover and was hooked! After discovering rotary cutting I was well and truly hooked.
After completing both C&G courses, I have since taken various workshops and courses with many different tutors and with InStitches and still find there is so much more to learn and techniques to master.

I belong to the contemporary branch of the Quilters Guild. I love playing and learning new and creative ways to express my ideas using different fabrics, dying, printing, painting, stitching them etc…I’m a dabbler.
My degree was in ceramics (many moons ago) I later went on to glass making.
I’m inspired by the outdoors, in particular woodland, which is a reoccurring theme. My other love is orienteering, where I spend a lot of time in the woods!

I have always enjoyed stitching, from the gingham apron for school cookery to A level needlework.
I returned to stitching again looking for activity when I retired. Joining a patchwork leisure class in Fleet and from this I was introduced to Village Green Quilters in 2009. In this group I have found many friends. I joined the committee to help Christine and now in my year 2019 /2020 as Chair I would like to encourage new members to come forward to help, so there is a rotation of people running the group and bringing new ideas.
