Judges' Award: Anne Gallagher - Untitled
I couldn't resist buying a layer cake of Janet Clare's "Hearty good wishes" range, and wanted to waste as little as possible. I found a pattern on the internet using a layer cake and 2 metres of fabric. Quick to piece, it took a lot longer to hand quilt. A simply machine pieced quilt designed to show off the fabric, heavily hand quilted with variegated thread to give the appearance of ripples. |
Winner of the Anna Jenkins Award : Rebecca Handyside - Spiers Lane
This quilt was inspired by my cycle rides through the Hampshire countryside. The cyclist is from a photograph I took of myself on my bike. A silk, curve pieced quilt with a machine appliquéd cyclist. Finished with lots of quilt patterns for the fields and sky.
