Judges Awards
1st: Terry Donaldson - Walking on the beach
Beaches for me are best in spring and autumn when a brisk walk on a clear day yields interesting finds to be collected, drawn and stitched. Rust from the landslip at Lyme and Eastbourne's Fishermen's beach, holed oyster shells, tatty feathers and that view of distant cliffs and sea sparkling in the sunlight. Own hand-dyed fabric and rust dyed cotton and linen fabric. Simple appliqued, hand and machine quilting. |
3rd: Hazel Ryder - You had beautiful lips
Some mornings I would lie next to you and watch your face for the pleasure of seeing them smile as you opened your eyes and said "Good morning" to me. My mornings have never been the same since you went away. Wholecloth, free motion quilted, original digitally printed fabric |
